ALYCIA SOARES

BIKINI & FITNESS MODEL

PLACE OF BIRTH: Orbost, Victoria

HEIGHT: 168cm

CONTEST WEIGHT: 55kg approx

OFF SEASON WEIGHT: 60-62kg

FAVOURITE BODY PART TO TRAIN:

Chest, shoulders, hamstrings and glutes.

I love to incorporate any sort of superset or giant set into my workouts, anything for some extra intensity and burn.

FAVOURITE EXERCISES:

My favourite exercises are dumbbell flies, stiff legs dead lifts, or Romanian dead lifts and Arnold presses are my favourite shoulder exercise. I also LOVE body weight dips and pull ups. I will often do these in between sets to just push that little bit harder.

ULTIMATE CHEAT MEAL:

Scotch fillet steak, nice big chunky potato chips OR sweet potato chips, salad and mushroom gravy! All homemade, with a movie…followed by icecream! Yum!

FAVOURITE MUSIC:

Anything with a catchy tune and good beat- especially if I can sing along to it!

FAVOUROTE THING TO DO OUTSIDE OF TRAINING:

Spending time with my family. Enjoying the down time with the kids, and the hubby.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TRAINING?

This year is my third year of competing. I first started training in March 2014,and have been hooked on my fitness journey and the competition scene ever since!

I rode horses, and was always a part of pony club as a child and all the way through high school, and also played hockey. I stopped playing sport when I started working, so getting into the gym was and still is a huge outlet for me as an adult to have some me time and let my competitive and determination go nuts.

Each year I gain more knowledge, more experience, and love the fact that I will never stop learning- it’s all a part of the journey.

WHAT KEEPS YOU MOTIVATED?

Setting goals. No matter how big or small they are, they will always keep me moving forward. I consider myself a very determined person, so smashing goals is my biggest reward!

Another huge motivation for me is my daughter. I am the biggest role model in her life, therefore I need to be the best role model I can be.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WANTING TO COMPETE?

Find a good coach- someone who is going to look after you and your health. Someone who can also teach you while they coach you. Education and knowledge is so important.

Listen to your body!!

Be organised. If you are organised, you will stay consistent.

Enjoy it! if you don’t enjoy the process and enjoy the journey- why do it?

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE FUTURE?

I have changed federations this year and am now a part of the IFBB. My plans are to enjoy the new federation, the new look I am bringing, and learn as much as possible from whoever is teaching!!

I am currently prepping for a show in Melbourne on October 16th, and hopefully heading to Sydney for the South Pacific Oceania Pro Qualifier a week later!

My main goal for the next 12 months is to compete at the Arnold Classic in March 2017!thats the one I’m the most excited about!!

Big goals- big dreams!
