FAVOURITE BODY PART TO TRAIN:

I enjoy training all parts of my body, but to name a few it would have to be my Glutes, Quads, Hammies and Shoulders

TOP 3 FAVOURITE EXERCISES:

  • DEAD LIFTS!
  • Leg Press
  • Dumbbell Shoulder Presses

WHAT IS YOUR ULTIMATE CHEAT MEAL?

Haha..I would have to say coming from a Filipino background, I love my mums Filipino cooking. (Chicken & Pork Adobo or Sinigang Na Baboy (Pork) Yuummiiieee!!

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU LIKE TO TRAIN TO?

I don't really listen to in-ear music while I train.. However I do enjoy listening to motivational speakers - this got me through a lot of my flatter days. Otherwise anything with a 'Four to the Floor' beat - Electro/Progressive House, Pop, R&B and Top 40 Commercial...or Ed Sheeran! ;)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING TO DO WHEN YOU ARE NOT TRAINING?

I like to vary it up as much as possible :) You would catch me spending a lot of time with my Family and my little niece. I enjoy researching through for new music, playing my piano, travelling, trying different authentic/multiculural food, going to the markets, being in the fresh air and going out to dinner with the boy. When i'm not preparing for a show I am guilty to say I love to enjoy a glass of white wine along with a cheese platter (if its available) haha. Otherwise,
i'll be on my phone surfing the internet for different work out exercises and scrolling through photos of my favourite girl Andreia Brazier!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TRAINING FOR?

For about 18-20 years.. From a young age I have always been the active type of person growing up. When I was 7 years old I took up gymnastics classes where I learnt the concept of lifting and holding up my own body weight. It was a couple of years later that I signed up and took Ballet Lessons. I completed 12 consistent years of Classical Ballet (the Cechetti Discipline). I had the opportunity to attend three Summer School Programs in Melbourne with talented classical teachers from the Australia Ballet Company and learnt Classical dance, Contemporary, Jazz
Ballet, Improvisation and Production. I loved the rhythm of Dance! While doing ballet, my other secret love was Athletics (Sprinting)!
I decided to register for the Darwin Athletics Club and completed 4 years of full time sprint training. Unfortunately, at the time, I started to develop different muscle groups from the cross training with sprints and my body began to stray away from the typical Ballerina's physique. It was through my Sprint Training that I introduced (The Gym) weight training into my conditioning routine and have been lifting weights on and off untill I found myself going to the gym religiously...
In June 2014, I made the decision to compete in my first bodybuilding competition at the NT Darwin Natural Physique Championships and 12 weeks later won my first INBA Title as a Bikini athlete. It was 9 months later that I had the opportunity to compete at my first International Show in Dubai for the INBA GLOBAL/PNBA World Championships, June 2015; I placed 2nd at my first World Title Show in the Bikini Diva (Class 1) Division.
Training and keeping active is an ongoing lifestyle for me. Keeping the body healthy, well nourished and exercised is for a lifetime and once you start training, you find you cannot stop :)

WHAT KEEPS YOU MOTIVATED?

... No, what keeps you DEDICATED?

What keeps me dedicated is the little voice in my head saying 'Give it your 100% - Have NO regrets on stage - Place or No place - Give it your all' and 'Don't leave anything in the tank!' I believe through Consistency, Discipline and Determination is the key to Ultimate Success. However for an everyday balanced lifestyle, the want to find a Happy-Medium is what keeps me
motivated :)

WHO/WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

Andreia Brazier!
Andreia has one of the strongest, inspiring looking physiques i have seen. If someone asked me, how far I would go building my body? OR what do I want to look like? I would say 'I want look like Andreia!' as I show them a photo. She isn't the biggest nor the tallest person in the sport of Bodybuilding so I can relate to her haha, but she is incredibly Strong, Fit and Athletic; very
inspirational!
I am also inspired by Fitness Quotes - Some of my favs :)
"Stop waiting for things to happen - Go Out! And make them happen"
"Fitness is not about being better than someone else...It's about being better than you used to be" "Your Body won't go where your Mind doesn't push it"
"At first they'll ask you WHY you're doing it, but later they'll ask you HOW you did it"

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WANTING TO COMPETE?

I would first have them ask themselves why they would want to compete?
Are they prepared to make the commitment? and; Are they prepared to be disciplined and dedicated to this commitment? (even when all motivation isn't enough anymore) I would have someone map out their goals, be realistic about what's involved and have them think what they want out of competing.
To name a few reasons why someone should compete: Having the commitment to lose weight and achieve a certain goal weight for an occasion or simply to feel their best and develop self confidence. They have in mind they want to work towards a fitness goal throughout the year and they choose to do a competition as their end goal. To gain background experience in the fitness industry.
I would also advise a person making the decision to compete to understand the 'What you Sow is What you Reap' formula; Understanding the 100% sowed efforts = 100% reaped results!

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?

I would like to see myself stepping up a division and compete in the Novice and Opens Fitness / Sports Model division for Season B 2016
Otherwise continue to keep training and decide in 2017 whether I want to try a different federation (IFBB) a give that a good go!
However, in the meantime, I plan to practice patience, trust in my workout programs and take baby steps through the building stages of my physique; stay lean & athletic #1!

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE SUPPLEMENTS?

I personally like to get most to all of my goodness and nutritional value from what I eat from whole foods. However if I am preparing for a competition or close to stage-time I like to consume:

* Virtago
* L-Carnitine
* Thermofuel
* Dymatize BCAAS
* Dymatize - Z Force
