This 'acetylated' form of Glucosamine is specifically processed to maintain the intact and biologically active N-acetyl-D-glucosamine molecule, which is a major component of hyaluronan, the lubricant in joints. It also plays an important role in the digestive tract.

Please note: HealthWise Glucosamines - L Glucosamine HCL and N Acetyl D-Glucosamine - is manufactured from crustacean shells as the starting organic material. 

These crustacean shells are thoroughly cleaned and sterilized before being used in production,

A common misconception is that shellfish-allergic patients cannot take glucosamine.

Glucosamine is normally safe to consume because it is made from the shells and not from the fish which is the protein that causes the allergy to shellfish.

However those will extreme allergy issues will always needs to exercise caution and try in micro doses pending advice from their healthcare professional.

Alternatively these persons may need to consider a synthetic glucosamine option.
