Demeter Farm Mill Organic Pearled Barley has been lightly polished to remove part or all of the germ and bran, leaving just the 'pearl' inside. Pearled barley cooks faster than hulled barley.

With a chewy texture and nutty flavor, barley is a delicious grain that can be used in a number of ways. Barley is fantastic for adding flavour, fibre and texture to soups and salads.

Organic Pearled Barley may be cooked and served as a side dish similar to rice or couscous. Once cooked, it can be used in salads, to thicken soups, broths or stews or for stuffing. To cook simmer 1 part barley in 4 parts water for 30-45mins.
